WiCyS Scholarship Update
WiCyS Scholarship Update:
It's been almost a week and I can still hardly believe I was awarded the WiCyS Security Training Scholarship! It includes (3) SANS certifications, and a (nearly) all expenses paid trip to the WiCyS yearly conference in Dallas, TX! Here are the (3) SANS certs I will be earning:
- GFACT (Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies)
- GSEC (Security Essentials)
- GCIH (Certified Incident Handler)
I purchased my flight and booked my hotel yesterday, so I'm officially going to the event! I'm so excited, I can hardly wait! I'll be starting GFACT on Jan. 28th, so hopefully that keeps me busy until April 2nd when the conference starts!
I was honestly surprised when I learned I had been awarded the prize. I knew I did pretty well in the Tier 2 CTF and training, but I honestly didn't know I had done this well!
Self Study:
My own self-studying lately has taken me down the path to Kubernetes! I wanted to spin up a Postgres cluster, and found CloudNativePG. This has been a very interesting journey! I knew I wanted to get into DevOps at some point, but I didn't expect to be taking on Kubernetes anytime soon! Can't wait to start learning some of the other services I can use on Kubernetes, such as Jenkins!
That's it for now. Hopefully I'll have time during my SANS courses to provide regular updates!
